The Movement of the Atlanta Hispanic Yoga Festival
What began as a simple idea has blossomed into something much greater. Today, the Atlanta Hispanic Yoga Festival represents a growing network of passionate teachers — a living movement filled with intention, love, and purpose. We are a community united by the belief that wellness should be accessible to everyone, regardless of language, culture, or income level.
It all started with a single yoga class — a unique, profound class taught in Spanish. The teacher’s words, warm and familiar, resonated deeply with everyone in the room. It was more than a moment of movement; it was a reconnection with roots, with culture, with identity. In that space, a vision was born: to share this experience with the entire Hispanic community and to create a refuge where every person could feel seen, heard, and supported.
That vision became a reality with the creation of the first Hispanic Yoga Festival in Atlanta — a pioneering event that marked a before and after. On the day of the festival, the Hispanic community showed up with enthusiasm, love, and openness, making one thing very clear: the community was ready for more.
Ready for spaces where wellness feels like home, where language is not a barrier, and where every person can connect with their body, their mind, and their culture.
Since then, the festival has grown thanks to the energy, passion, and support of hundreds of people and our sponsors who believe in one shared purpose: transforming wellness into a right, not a privilege.

MAGDA OLVERA
DIRECTOR/FOUNDER
Born and raised in Mexico, Magda moved to the U.S. over 20 years ago and now calls Atlanta home. Her journey with yoga began as a way to heal her body after a knee injury, but it quickly grew into a profound practice that she feels compelled to share with others.
With over ten years of experience as a fitness instructor and a Yoga RYT200 certification, Magda brings intention, power, balance, and, most importantly, joy to her students. Her teaching philosophy is centered on fostering deep connections, helping students not only strengthen their bodies but also nurture their minds and souls.
Magda is passionate about introducing the benefits of yoga to a new community of Hispanic yogis by offering classes exclusively in Spanish. Through her work, she hopes to inspire the Hispanic residents of the metro-Atlanta area to take a break from their daily routines, reconnect with their cultural roots, and experience a sense of blissfulness, physically and mentally recharging in the process.
